What we keep
- A random player id in a cookie, so we know which egg is yours. Until you sign in, it isn't linked to anything about you.
- Each hatch: the day and time, the creature, its tier, whether it was shiny, and the roll numbers behind it. From these we work out your streak and dex counts for the boards, and note who hatched each creature first each day.
- If you sign in, your email address, plus the display name and title you pick. Your player id is then linked to that account. Sign-in links and sessions are stored only as one-way hashes.
- When you ask for a sign-in link, the email address and your IP address go on that request. We delete these after about a day; they're there to stop abuse.
- Daily totals, like how many Puddlums hatched today. These don't say who.
Settings like sound and motion, and which badges you've already seen, stay on your device.
What we don't do
There are no ads or tracking scripts on Hatchdle, and we don't sell or share your data.
Who else is involved
Cloudflare hosts the site and database, sends the sign-in emails and runs the Turnstile check on the sign-in form.
Leaderboards
Only signed-in players who pick a display name show up, and you can hide yourself from the Boards screen. We remove names that are rude or pretend to be us.
Deleting your data
Open Settings and tap Delete my data. Signed in, that removes your account, every hatch and your sign-in records at once. Signed out, it removes this device's hatches. Database backups roll off within 30 days.
